Cadel Evans: Great Ocean Road Race

Cadel Evans: Great Ocean Road Race

My first international cycling event. Brought on last minute.
The work spoke for itself.

Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

Corporate Partnership Videographer via Circus Media — 2026

The Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race is one of Australia's most prestigious international cycling events. I was brought on through Circus Media weeks before race day as the corporate partnership videographer, tasked with ensuring every major sponsor saw their moment captured and delivered for social media and future marketing use. What followed was one of the most rewarding productions of my career so far.

Mapei Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race

An international cycling event, a last minute brief, a full corporate sponsor list, and a women's race finish line moment that stopped everyone in their tracks.

Corporate Partner Coverage

Every major partner had a role in making this event happen and the content had to reflect that. Cadel Evans, Mapei, Mercedes, TAC, Visit Victoria, Tudor, O2 Events, Signature Sport, and Geelong Port all received dedicated coverage built for social media and future marketing use. Each piece was produced with the partner's brand in mind and the event's prestige as the backdrop.

Behind the Scenes

I was brought on weeks before race day with a clear brief: cover the event, serve the sponsors, and produce content that works for social media and long term marketing use. I proved useful quickly.

The sponsor list was substantial. Cadel Evans, Mapei, Mercedes, TAC, Visit Victoria, Tudor, O2 Events, Signature Sport, and Geelong Port all had stakes in this event and all needed content that reflected their involvement with quality and intention. Managing that across a live international cycling event, while generating my own creative ideas on the fly, required focus, speed, and a clear head.

The women's race finish was the moment of the weekend. Ally Wollaston crossed the line and the emotion that followed was completely unscripted. Being in the right position at the right time to capture that reaction was the kind of thing you can't plan for. You just have to be ready.

By the end of the event the event manager and Cadel Evans himself had taken notice. The feedback reflected what I hold myself to in every production: staying calm under pressure, pivoting without losing quality, and producing content that earns its place long after the event is over.

This was my first international cycling event. It won't be my last.
